HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE: Part 2 of Arielle and Michael’s gorgeous romance, roses, and Romeo & Juliet inspired wedding
Here we go, Part 2 of this wedding of dreams, Arielle and Michael’s mega Jewish meets Irish sumptuous nuptials captured by Benjamin Wheeler , with plenty of help from suppliers they met at Most Curious 2019!
The day, held at the amazing Sunbeam Studios, channeled, as Arielle describes, "a Romeo and Juliet dramatic romance, and Rose Garden Vibes with a touch of kitsch.’
They had a wonderful ceremony, lead by liberal Rabbi Mark Solomon, who works with interfaith relations and is proudly gay. He is also a cantor and Arielle tells us sang beautifully throughout the proceedings. He sung Dodi Li from The Song of Songs as Arielle circled Michael three times. They exchanged rings and smashed the glass. The mighty Emma Beaumont Atelier made Arielle’s giant puff sleeve dreams come true. Michael wore Suit Supply.
Arielle has an incredible stylist eye for detail and created the concept for the whole day. The just breathtaking flowers are by our exhibitor Blume Studios who helped Arielle bring the Romeo & Juliet fantasy into reality.
“It was brought to life by our florals and accessories by Elspeth at Blume combined with the various statue props I sourced, old books, lots of candles, peach piped cake by The Glorious Bakery, with swinging cherub topper. We found The Glorious Bakery at Most Curious. We also made a decoupage famous couple table plan, inspired by our fave couples like Harry & Sally, Scarlett & Rhett, Alabama & Clarence & John & Yoko. I also sourced vintage Irish books for the floral domes to be displayed on- a nod to Michael’s Irish roots’
"At both the dinner and the dancing, we had specially commissioned video projections by our friend James Kelly at Studio Punch. He combined pictures of us with graphics of roses, statues, clouds and more to create two different looped videos that really set the scene. We were able to do this as our venue Sunbeam Studios is a photo and film studio with large alcoves that were perfect for projections."
Music played a big part with Mona Lisas & Mad Hatters by Elton John as the wedding party walked down the aisle and My Love by Paul McCartney as Arielle walked in. Their favourite moment of the day also includes a musical moment!
‘Apart from the smashing of the glass at the end of our ceremony and our first dance, one of our favourite parts was, at the dinner, all our guests gradually started singing along to “How Deep Is Your Love” by the Bee Gees. By the middle of the song everyone was singing at the top of their voices and swaying. It was a totally organic and happy thing that I’ll always remember.
I’m so glad the time I put into our dinner playlist paid off!”
They also found their DJs the Wedding Smashers at the show.
‘We loved coming to Most Curious,’ described Arielle. 'So refreshing after visiting the traditional wedding shows which I really got a bit disheartened at. Loved the creative vibe and that there were lots of young business people doing their thing. And we found the Wedding Smashers there as they were playing as we walked round and the music was amazing! We needed a DJ after our band to party on and the team at Wedding Smashers were perfect. They really listened to our tastes. We knew they were right for us straight away- we we’re looking for a DJ that wasn’t too naff. Dan, the DJ who ended up being assigned to our wedding was playing Fleetwood Mac full blast at Most Curious and we knew we wanted him. He listened to our requests and one of our best memories of the night was dancing to Joubert Singers “Stand On The Word”- a song from our partying days.'
