Introducing KATYA KATYA
YES! Oh ladies and lovelies, it feels good to be back. And it's back with a bang, as we're thrilled to introduce you to your first premium exhibitor of Most Curious '18 - the inimitable bridal brand KATYA KATYA. Kat from Rock 'n' Roll Bride is a major fan, and so are we, and for good reason! Katya's romantic designs are a beautiful blend of cutting edge modernity whilst still remaining true to their vintage-inspired rustic roots. She uses only the most gorgeous laces, and her cuts are super flattering and ethereal. All of her dresses can be colour-customised too, which we absolutely adore! With a shiny new flagship store in the heart of Chelsea, and a stunning new "Morning Mist" collection just launched, things are looking rosy for this lovely lady...
We asked Katya herself a few questions so that you could get to know her better!
Why did you decide to set up your own business?
I decided to launch my own business in 2007, focusing on evening wear but having always created a few one off pieces for bridal. Recognising a gap in the market and a demand for a less traditional style of gown, I grew very quickly within bridal and found a love for the industry which is unprecedented.
What do you think the most Curious couples will love about your designs?
KATYA KATYA has a very unique approach to bridal, which is strongly connected to nature through its modern yet rustic charm, and a bohemian feel to the bridal collections. Comfort and elegance is key for our brides, but also being able to let their own personal style shine through. I think the brides at Most Curious can very much connect with our brand ethos which is why we return year after year.
Who or what inspires you?
A lot of my inspiration comes from what is around me, the elements, wilderness, wild flowers, the sea and the contrast of colours this all encompasses. This bridal collection remains routed in the beauty of nature and the feeling of pure happiness and freedom which comes from this.
Who is your fave famous wedding from history and why?
Actress Gene Tierney wore a dress by costume designer Oleg Cassini in The Razor’s Edge. Tierney and Cassini later eloped to Las Vegas to be married. The gown she wore is truly beautiful and timeless.
What's been the coolest/best moment of your career so far?
Recently opening the new flagship store in Chelsea has defiantly been a wonderful moment in my career so far. It is everything I imagined for KATYA KATYA and more. Both Bridal and Evening Wear can now take pride of place across two floors, and our clients love the space.
What do you love most about your job?
Our Brides are always the biggest highlight of the job, seeing them getting married in something you created is a truly amazing feeling.
You can see why we love her designs, in all of their timeless beauty - and why we can't wait for you to meet her in March.
Peace and love,
Team MC x
