We asked Emma, the owner, a bit about Doris Loves.
Why did you decide to set up your own business?
I was in a rut (a 15 year rut) and had to get out. After 18 months of working for myself, Doris Loves came up as an opportunity too good to refuse, and the rest you can see is history.
What's been the best moment of your career so far?
To be honest having been in the civil service for 15 years, having the opportunity to work for myself is the best moment for me.
Who inspires you?
My parents - always hardworking, dedicated to everything they did - I hope some of it has washed off!
Who is your fave famous wedding from history and why?
Elvis and Priscilla! For such an over the top couple with all the bling, Vegas was always going to be their location of choice, but the part that always surprises me is the fact they had an intimate wedding with only 14 people. To me, that just smacks of having the wedding you want in your own way. I think Priscilla puts its best:
My wedding was very unusual. It was the people closest to us, and private, and that’s how we wanted it. We didn’t want a fan club. We didn’t want a circus.”
Describe the type of couple you are hoping to meet at Most Curious.
All of them! I enjoyed meeting everyone last time around and loved hearing all of their ideas. I love everything about my job - tattooing, admin, even accounts - but meeting people is something I absolutely adore.
What do you think the most Curious couples will love about your services?
We've just launched some gorgeous new neon lights - and also, a new narwhal tattoo. Who doesn't love a narwhal?
