Meet the Manchester 2020 bridalNEXT! Winners!

Here’s part 2 of our bridalNEXT Award announcements - the Manchester winners!

Again chosen from an amazing line up of fresh new talent and innovative young brands, by Love My Dress from our curated showcase of the ones to watch in weddings, bridalNEXT. It is a platform for designers and artisans who have launched their bridal brand no earlier than 2 years prior and has a discounted price to keep it accessible to start ups and fledging artisans or people who have taken a new bridal direction in their work.

New for 2020, bridalNEXT! is run in conjunction with the UK’s biggest bridal blog Love My Dress, another big player in the industry who is striving to champion emerging, British talent in the bridal world. Again some cute pics of them being told of their award and receiving their little rosette taken by Becky Most Curious at the show! We will also be publishing individual spot lights and vids on the brands over the next few months, as part of their prize. And because we wanna!

WINNER FASHION CATEGORY: MEGAN BROWN JEWELLERY

Megan is a contemporary jeweller, with a love of tradition and craftmanship inspired by her unique textile heritage. She explores the use of texture and form to create elegant designs to be cherished every day, each piece is so detailed and unique and you can feel the hand crafting that informs it. She recently launched her business with the Princess Trust. Megan works from her North Yorkshire based studio, hand making each piece using traditional techniques which have been used for centuries. Her passion for gemmology and sourcing naturally formed, unique gemstones has inspired many of her one of kind pieces; future heirlooms to be treasured.

FASHION CATEGORY RUNNER UP: ALABASTER DREAM

Alabaster Dream is a contemporary bridal accessories brand created by Rachael Cooke in porcelain. Rachael is a jewellery graduate who is passionate about creating luxurious heirloom bridal jewellery with a modern edge. Alabaster Dream offers up sculptural headpieces and jewellery crafted from cold porcelain as a primary material and then silver, gilt and Swarovski elements to elevate each design. Rachael hand sculpts each component and crafts each piece from scratch in her Yorkshire studio, offering both a made to order and bespoke service to her brides. 

WINNER SERVICES CATEGORY: STYLE YOUR SPACES

Style Your Spaces is a creative studio based in Edinburgh specialising in floral design, styling and planning for luxury weddings and brand events. They create contemporary and imaginative floral installations and bridal flowers, using sustainable floristry methods and seasonal flowers. They particularly love working with the different textural qualities of both dried and fresh flowers and incorporate new trends and techniques.

Their detail-orientated and friendly styling and planning services are the culmination of years of experience within wedding planning and event design, having co-founded We Are Cook & Baker and produced events for the likes of Vogue and Jackson & Levine. 

RUNNER UP SERVICES CATEGORY: KAKE BY LEANNE HENRY

Leanne, the founder of Kake, is a cake designer, originally from Wales but now based in Liverpool. She was a TV make-up artist for many years before recently discovering a love for cake decorating. After cake decorating for only few months, she was chosen from thousands of applicants to appear on Channel 4’s ‘Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas‘ to showcase her work . 

She has a list of clientele that includes  celebrities and was recently asked to make a ‘Housewives of Cheshire’ themed cake for one of the TV shows stars. Leanne’s style is ‘realistic and untraditional’, her uniqueness is that every item on the cake is handcrafted. As well as looking unique on the outside she can guarantee that the inside is just as special with a delicious range of flavours .
