An intimate setting with maximal styling: Ultramarine Flowers, Spark Alice and Wolf & Co show us that micro doesn't have to equal minimal
“Letting the outside in” is a phrase that’s oft overused nowadays — it takes its rightful place right next to ‘unprecedented’ — but this beautiful shoot, styled by Spark Alice, shows just how magical it can be when it’s done right. What do you get when you combine a stunning London townhouse with oversized, immense greenery and florals? Beauty like this!
Hannah’s intention was to take an intimate wedding setting and make it feel expansive. “I wanted the styling to complement the warm and cosy venue, so chose a calm and simple colour palette with modern shapes and soft fabrics.” The venue in question was the Blythe Hill wing of Flora and Fauna Studios, who’s flagship studio can be found on bustling Columbia Market.
To achieve this, she used “silk georgette ribbon tied around the wine glasses and clean, stoneware plates” on the table. “I also included watercolour artwork of a bride and groom by artist Liane Armstrong rather than the traditional table stationery to help add to the homely feel. Altogether, it made a perfect setting for an intimate wedding dinner.”
The other major decor element was the incredible flowers, courtesy of Ultramarine Flowers. Gemma created beautiful tabletop arrangements in a fresh spring palette of white and cream to lift the verdant foliage. We especially love how the accent colours of yellow, to match the Skar Organics taper candles, and the deep berry-black, to match the berry stalks and grapes she’d used as finishing touches, didn’t feature in the arrangements in the form of petals, but in the form of the flower centres. Genius!
Gemma also created an amazing floral installation to go on the mantelpiece above the fireplace. With sprawling greenery and stems that looked simultaneously manicured and meadowlike, it provided an excellent focal piece for the room. A stripped-back guestlist doesn’t have to mean stripped-back decor.

Another Most Curious supplier who you can see this weekend featured in this shoot is the man responsible for the beautiful photos we’re currently showing you - Osman of Wolf & Co Photography. You might recognise him as the man behind the lens behind our 2022 campaign shoot, and here you can see how everything he shoots is imbued with excellent style and sincerity.
The beautiful Lyann wore two looks by Halfpenny London, the first a silky strapless jumpsuit and the second a ruffled shoulder, form-fitting dress. Both looks were finished off with glowing beauty by Szilvia Balog and hair accessories by our long time collaborator AM Faulkner, for two totally different but both understated and effortlessly elegant bridal looks.
