Why did you decide to set up your own business?

Since the day we met, it was our dream to pursue photography as a career. We both had backgrounds in photography prior to meeting, and what started out as doing weddings for friends and family, quickly developed into a passion for telling people’s story in a unique way, and so we set up Olivia & Dan Photography. Nothing fulfils us more than telling the story of two people in love. We seek out that special connection between couples and aim to capture it in a genuine way.

Who or what inspires you?

We are hugely influenced by cinema, fine-art and documentary photography. In-fact you’ll notice our aesthetic has a very film-like quality to it. Stories inspire us and we very much document our weddings as if we were telling a story. Our couples get to re-live their day as it happened, but they also get to re-live it emotionally too. Human connection also fascinates us, it has the power to breathe life into images and transform them into something incredibly moving.

What's been the coolest/best moment of your career so far?

It’s hard to choose just one, but probably receiving the amazing thank you e-mails and cards from our couples after delivering their photos. It’s always such a humbling and beautiful feeling that stays with us for a long time.

Describe the type of couple you are hoping to meet at Most Curious

Above all we are hoping to meet couples with a strong connection, who aren’t afraid to let go and show us their true selves. We often find it’s creative types who have an appreciation of film, art and photography that are attracted to our work. Dan and I love working with relaxed couples too, who aren’t too fussed about every little detail being perfect, but are more focussed on who they are marrying and why!

What do you think the most Curious couples will love about your service?

We think they’ll love the fact that we’re offering something fresh in our approach to wedding photography. Our cinematic, moodier style definitely sets us apart from the mainstream market! We are constantly pushing ourselves creatively and are passionate about documenting those raw, real emotions which are unique to the couple. What we want our clients to realise is that we aren’t just a service, we go far beyond that in so many ways from getting to know them as people, to helping them plan their timeline and educating them on how to get the best out of their wedding photography.

Who is your fave famous wedding from history and why?

Probably Kurt Cobain and Cortney love. They just didn’t take it too seriously, and tied the knot privately on a beach in Hawaii. Kurt wore plaid pajamas (yes!) and Courtney wore a simple vintage satin and lace dress. We love how this was just a complete reflection of their personalities, they didn’t give two hoots about tradition.

What  do you love most about your job?

So many things! Travelling and meeting new people is amazing and we feel very lucky to be able to do that. Joining people on such an important day in their life and capturing memories through a medium we’re passionate about is the thing we love most though.

If you want to come see Olivia & Dan's stall at the fair, bask in their loveliness and be in the running to win their incredible offer - tickets are available now!
