A New York Minute: How everything changed for Kineta and Andrew (and yet stayed the same) in March 2020
What happens when you’re meant to be getting married 16th March on that fateful, unforgettable year 2020? Well if you’re as in love, decisive and bad ass as these two, you don’t crumble, you don’t falter, you don’t procrastinate (ALL things I would have done!) you message your photographer AJ Tamari at 11pm to see if she can switch dates to… the morning.. hold on to your hats and go for it.
This is Andrew and Kineta married on 12th March with a BHLDN dress and a bouquets of flowers from the street vendor outside City Hall - one of AJ Tamari’s real weddings we wanted to show you as part of our spotlight on her.
Well.. this became more than that. This is a wedding and love story for the ages and AJ’s images capture the spontaneity, the slightly bewildered but giddy day, staring the down the barrel of the unchartered territory of a worldwide pandemic but feeling the upmost certainty of each other. And written like the perfect script by these two performer babes.

BACK TO LOVE: The Ballad of Marthe and Tash
Tash and Marthe just have that ‘soul mate’ vibe - true adventurers, who have survived a long distance relationship, stand firm in embodying and representing their values and identities and are just holding each other safely throughout all the trials and tribulations all those things inevitably bring. Quite literally a model couple (check out their gorgeous bridal shoots in this post!) but they have been through the same journey any engaged couple has been through this past year, but all their experiences so far have gifted them a pretty laid back, grown up attitude about the whole thing - read on to try and absorb some of this secret magic haha! Things finally seem to be slotting into place for them though and we are loving the sound of their plans. Can’t wait to see the big day when it comes, beauties!!

Meghan Markle and all people who experience the effects of racism: We believe YOU, we see YOU, we support YOU.
We believe and support Meghan, of course we do. Will she read this, I highly doubt it!
Predictable post from us perhaps. But that’s good! And have definitely been wondering about sitting this one out and having real conversations with people in my life and just concentrating on my own inner racism that is there from growing up in this colonial dumpster fire we call home.
But I thought in this instance both could happen. Because I think it’s still very worth saying here, because the bigger impact of that is we are saying we believe all black or brown people who have experienced racism, trauma and mental health issues because of it.

You are my Sun, my moon: Heshani and Nuwan's big party (finally!) and traditional Sri Lankan ceremonies in Melbourne
What a total treat we have today with Nuwan and Heshani’s Melbourne wedding, captured by the AH-mazing Shevan J Photography. We were super chuffed to have him even reply back to us! The gorgeous mixture of traditional Sri Lankan ceremonies with a little Western outfit change for the evening party, was originally planned for May 2020, but was of course rescheduled (to Jan 30th) so this one is hot off the press guys! We are just melting at the first look pics, and the initial portrait images of them even arriving have knocked our socks off, before we even get to the ceremonies!

LIVING IN COLOUR: Paul and Fabien's pastel perfect artsy day filled with love
Gorgeous couple Paul and Fabien are obviously super creative with a wonderful circle of close family and friends and we felt that although it’s a wedding from pre-covid times, it has that simple but meaningful feel where, although endlessly chic, the main warmth and beauty just comes from the love between everyone in the room - something we will all be feeling once weddings are back on for sure! We love the muted tones of the day, in particular the fantastic coordinated suits, and the iconic London spots like Battersea Power station and the surrounding area as a firm backdrop and integral part of the day. Love that black and white shot of the couple on their own balcony, taken from the block of flats across the way.
We will pass over to Fiona now for the description of the day. This wedding has also been featured on London Bride, but we hope you will enjoy it all over again!

FREE WHEELIN’ LOVE : Poppy and Rowan’s beautiful, free and easy elopement
Poppy and Rowan’s Norwich elopement proves that a ceremony of 5 people and a whole bunch of love is enough to create a wedding that melts your heart. Autumn is always the most Romantic season in our minds, any any couple that’s gets married looking like Bob Dylan’s Freewheeling album cover has absolutely nailed the style stakes in my book. Poor loves had a tough year trying to work out how to navigate getting married, finally were pushed to jump because of living situations (read on for the full story) which meant their date was finally, meant to be the 5th November, but had to make some nerve wracking quick changes before Lockdown 2 started ON THE 5TH OF NOVEMBER. So squeezed this absolute swooner of an ultra chilled, artsy, earthy, ceremony in, a few days before. Poppy describes her dress as ‘renaissance/punk/milkmaid girl’s prairie fantasy’ and we feel that is a good description for the whole aesthetic and we love it. Congratulations you love birds, we adored reading your story. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness together, you did it!

This shoot was about so many things. It was organised through out the summer of 2020 - one we will never forget. And shot in between two lockdowns in September, after many stop starts stop starts, following an email from Woods Silver Fleet which we just looked back that came in on 7th March 2020, asking us to create something to promote their brand new floating wedding venue, Woods Quay as well as their legendary river yachts The Silver Sturgeon and Barracuda. What a crazy time its been since then to get to this point!

HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE: Part 2 of Arielle and Michael’s gorgeous romance, roses, and Romeo & Juliet inspired wedding
Here we go, Part 2 of this wedding of dreams, Arielle and Michael’s mega Jewish meets Irish sumptuous nuptials captured by Benjamin Wheeler , with plenty of help from suppliers they met at Most Curious 2019! The day, held at the amazing Sunbeam Studios, channeled, as Arielle describes, "a Romeo and Juliet dramatic romance, and Rose Garden Vibes with a touch of kitsch.’ They had a wonderful ceremony, lead by liberal Rabbi Mark Solomon, who works with interfaith relations and is proudly gay. He is also a cantor and Arielle tells us sang beautifully throughout the proceedings. He sung Dodi Li from The Song of Songs as Arielle circled Michael three times. They exchanged rings and smashed the glass. The mighty Emma Beaumont Atelier made Arielle’s giant puff sleeve dreams come true. Michael wore Suit Supply.

A NOTE ON MOST CURIOUS AND ANTI RACISM
Thanks for listening to my other post after the US election! I just want to say, I know this is a wedding account and I also know since May I have lost more followers than I have gained - maybe that’s because of the restrictions around weddings and parties, or maybe because we currently have no event to promote, OR maybe it’s because I have made a point of starting my novice and lifelong journey of being intentionally inclusive and diverse and being vocal about why and the issues around it. And perhaps many/most people are not here for that!
I for sure don’t have all the answers, and it is not my voice which needs to be heard, but I feel it’s so important to keep banging the door on this issue because I believe that to truly make change and BE anti racist, it must run through everything we do like a thread. Because racism runs through every thing like a thread too, so the only way to counter it is consider it every where we are.

Mini dresses, Mazel Tovs and maxi boots, make Arielle and Michael’s Chelsea Town Hall ceremony micro wedding inspiration galore
This August 2019 London wedding, of Arielle and Michael, is one we’ve swooned over many a time and knew our exhibitor Blume Studio did the INCREDIBLE primo of the ‘2019 moment’ flowers, so we wanted to find out if there was a Most Curious connection. And there is! The couple came to the show, with Arielle’s mum and found quite a few suppliers including Blume, Glorious Bakery, Papier, and The Wedding Smashers!
And there’s also method to our madness because they actually had a registry office beforehand at Chelsea Town Hall, which we think serves as perfect micro wedding inspiration, so ACTUALLY we are going to post that one first in this as Part 1, and then we will post part 2 next week! Which like we say is more of the absolute dream level giant Jewish meets Irish wedding extravaganza scenario so, it will be MORE than worth the wait. Have we done this the right way round, not sure, but let’s go for it!
Images, taken by the one and only Benjamin Wheeler
ENJOY GUYS, ENJOY!!
